# Chikamori Site

Kanazawa, Japan

The Chikamori Site preserves a late Jōmon settlement where 347 pillar foundations were unearthed, including giant chestnut posts set in rings. Excavated from 1954 and named a National Historic Site in 1987, it survives today as an archaeological park.
