Qiantang River, Hangzhou

A 459-kilometer river flowing through Zhejiang past Hangzhou into Hangzhou Bay, famous for a tidal bore that can rise up to 9 meters. Its name recalls the dikes built by Qian Liu, founder of the Wuyue Kingdom, against that very tide.
