McNabs Island

The largest island in Halifax Harbour, McNabs spans about 395 hectares and carries the name of Peter McNab, who bought it in the 1780s. Old forts, a lighthouse, Victorian gardens, and Mi'kmaq shell middens dot its now-protected shores.
