# Zekate House

Gjirokastra, Albania

A masterpiece of southern Albanian architecture, this house was built between eighteen eleven and eighteen twelve by Beqir Zeko, Ali Pasha of Tepelena's chief local administrator. It has twin towers, a double entrance arch and gilded ceilings. It is now managed by his descendants, whose ownership has been restored.
