A hidden medieval courtyard off the Hoogpoort, named after the wealthy Van der Sickele family who owned these patrician houses in the 14th century. Its sandstone staircase tower and octagonal Renaissance belvedere survive among the city's finest medieval mansions, now home to a music conservatory.
