Ponte Santa Trinita

Ponte Santa Trinita, Florence

A graceful three-arched bridge over the Arno, designed by Bartolomeo Ammannati in the 1560s and regarded as the oldest elliptic-arch bridge in the world. Destroyed in 1944, it was faithfully rebuilt using stones recovered from the riverbed.
