# Palazzo Vecchio

Florence, Italy

Florence's fortress-like town hall, begun in 1299 and attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio, rises over the Piazza della Signoria beneath a 94-meter tower. Long the seat of the republic and later the Medici, it remains the city hall today.
