# Fort of Santo António da Piedade

Evora, Portugal

A square Vauban-style bastion fort just north of Évora's walls, ordered to be erected by King João IV in 1650 to defend the city during the Portuguese Restoration War. It rose over a former monastery and now houses a missionary seminary.
