Oostpoort (Eastern Gate)

Oostpoort (Eastern Gate), Delft

Delft's only surviving medieval city gate, built around 1400 in brick Gothic style. Its twin towers gained octagonal upper floors and tall spires around 1510. The other gates were demolished in the 1840s, leaving this one mirrored in the canal.
