Charleston, United States
Aiken-Rhett House

Built around 1820 and expanded by Governor William Aiken Junior, this preserved antebellum complex survives largely unrestored. With original outbuildings and some of Charleston's most intact enslaved quarters, it offers a rare, unvarnished view of nineteenth-century city life.
