Palacio de Aguas Corrientes

Palacio de Aguas Corrientes, Buenos Aires

A lavishly decorated water pumping station of 1894, its eclectic facade clad in some 300,000 glazed tiles imported from Britain. Behind the ornate palace exterior stood vast iron tanks supplying the city, now partly a museum on Cordoba avenue.
