# Kruispoort (Cross Gate)

Bruges, Belgium

A massive fortified gate on the eastern edge of Bruges, rebuilt around 1400 with twin towers after the earlier gate was destroyed. One of four surviving medieval gates, it guarded the road toward Ghent and the eastern Flemish countryside.
