State Library of Queensland

Founded in 1896 and rebuilt at South Bank in 2006, Queensland's state library is a contemporary concrete-and-glass landmark by Donovan Hill and Peddle Thorp. Its shaded verandahs and river-facing reading rooms wrap around a mature poinciana tree.
