Volkspark Friedrichshain

Volkspark Friedrichshain, Berlin

Berlin's oldest public park, laid out from 1846 by Gustav Meyer. It holds the Fairy Tale Fountain of 1913, two rubble hills heaped over wartime bunkers, the graves of the 1848 revolution, and is a daily haunt for runners, picnickers and open-air cinema crowds.
