Landwehr Canal

Landwehr Canal, Berlin

A tree-lined waterway built between 1845 and 1850 to a design by Peter Joseph Lenné, looping nearly eleven kilometres through central Berlin. Once a busy shipping route, its shaded towpaths are now a favourite walking place, near where Rosa Luxemburg's body was thrown in 1919.
