# Lead Mosque

Berat, Albania

This Ottoman mosque in the neighbourhood of Mangalem dates from the mid-sixteenth century and takes its name from the lead sheets that Ragusan craftsmen laid over its brick dome. It survived the atheist era as a cultural monument and today serves worshippers again following restoration by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency.
