# Cathedral of the Ascension

Berat, Albania

Berat's new Orthodox cathedral was built between two thousand and two and two thousand and fourteen on the foundations of a nineteenth-century church demolished by the communist regime. It was consecrated by Archbishop Anastasios Yannoulatos in the birthplace of the head of the Church, Kristofor Kisi.
