Ayutthaya, Thailand
Wat Phanan Choeng

Established in 1324, before Ayutthaya itself, this riverside temple shelters Luang Pho Tho, a gilded seated Buddha some 19 meters tall. Long beloved by Thai-Chinese devotees and mariners, it remains one of the city's busiest living shrines.
