# Philopappos Monument

Athens, Greece

A marble mausoleum crowning the Hill of the Muses opposite the Acropolis, raised between 114 and 116 of the common era for Philopappos, a prince of Commagene and Roman consul. Its curved facade and chariot frieze still command sweeping city views.
