Odeon of Herodes Atticus

A Roman theatre on the southern slope of the Acropolis, built in 161 CE by Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife. Once roofed in cedar and seating around 5,000, its restored marble tiers now host the summer Athens Festival beneath the ancient rock.
