Mount Lycabettus

Mount Lycabettus, Athens

The highest point in central Athens, a limestone hill rising 277 metres above the city. A funicular and footpaths climb to a whitewashed chapel of Saint George at the summit, where a sweeping panorama takes in the whole basin and the distant sea.
