Famine Stela

Famine Stela, Aswan

A Ptolemaic-era inscription carved into a granite boulder on Sehel Island. Its 32 columns of hieroglyphs tell of a seven-year famine ended by King Djoser, the god Khnum, and the sage Imhotep, set centuries before the carving itself.
