Arequipa, Peru
El Misti

El Misti is the symmetrical stratovolcano rising 5,822 meters above Arequipa, the city's emblem and "house mountain." Inca priests performed sacrifices near its summit during its last major eruption. Closely monitored today, it remains one of the world's most dangerous volcanoes.
