Antwerp Zoo

One of the world's oldest zoos, founded in 1843 beside Antwerp Central Station. Around 5,000 animals live among protected nineteenth-century buildings, including an Egyptian temple and a Moorish house, while its research centre runs breeding programs for endangered okapis and bonobos.
